Wood pellet is a renewable, clean and cheap alternative to other fuels.

It is a biomass produced from renewable and mostly recycled wood residuals.

Wood pellets, sawdust, recycled papers and many other agricultural products and byproducts are used in the production of bio mass. What makes it attractive is its renewability.

Many pellet producer converts wood products into pellets by changing their shape, moisture  and density. Pellets contains much less moisture comparing to previous forms. (Raw biomass contains 60% humidity while pellets have around 4%). Less moisture means more BTU. Pellets, since they are pressed, have less density comparing to biomass. Also pellets are easier to process and allow simpler feeding sistems in stoves.

Pellets release less emissions comparing fossil fuels. Ash content is around 1% as they are applied high pressure and moisture is extracted. In another words, only 10 Kg of ash comes out when you burn 1 ton of wood pellets while ash content is 200 – 500 kg when you burn the same quantity of coal. Also, the ash of pellet can be used as natural fertilizer.
